Representation Of Teenagers In The Media - Section 2

There are also a lot of characters in films that are teenagers. Here are some examples.

1) Katie (Rebecca Martin) in Kidulthood , is physically and emotionally bullied by a group of girls. This shows that some teenagers are big bullies and hurt other people's feelings. As a result of bullying some people commit suicide and this signifies that teenagers are murderers too.

2) In the film Kidulthood, many teenagers carry weapons and threaten  to kill people but they are shown to not have the guts to. This might signify that teenagers are cowards. And they carry weapons which can be harmful for the society and they should be ignored.

The teenagers are often involved in gangs and they also rob shops and people. And also they cannot afford to pay for food. This signifies that teenagers are broke and are not given money by their parents so they have to do these bad deeds to earn money for themselves.

3) History Boys is a film set in the early 20th century and it is based around Sheffield grammar school. In this film the teenagers are shown as very polite and smart gentlemen. This signifies that teenagers can be the hope for society in education

They are shown as young adults and very kind and posh like people want teenagers to be. They are shown as good role models to teenagers.
